A meeting of the Berlin Board of Education was held in the Berlin High School library beginning at 6:00 p.m. Present for the meeting were Nicole Plourde, Kenneth Proulx, Donald Labrecque, Lynn Moore, Louise Valliere, Corinne Cascadden, Bryan Lamirande, Gary Bisson, Tim Forestall, Jane Provencher, Liz Deen, Dan Record, Amy Huter, Ted McCormick, Georgia Caron, Roland Pinette, Cheryl Pinette, Patricia and Amanda Shute, Deanna Dube, and member of the press.
MINUTES On a motion by Lynn Moore, seconded by Louise Valliere, the Board voted to approve the minutes of the May 16, 2013 meeting, public and nonpublic sessions as amended. The motion passed unanimously.
WARRANTS On a motion by Louise Valliere, seconded by Donald Labrecque, the Board voted to approve the warrants dated, June 3, 2013 and June 10, 2013 for the amounts of $16,870.34 and $212,352.31. On a roll call vote, all members voted in the affirmative.
FINANCIAL REPORT The Board reviewed and approved the financial report.
COMMENTS Gary Bisson informed the Board that $132,240 in scholarships was awarded to 39 seniors at Berlin High School.
Ted McCormick commended all of the CTE programs and the CTE Director.
SUPER’S REPORT The Superintendent informed the Board of the following issues:

• Dedication at Jericho Lake Park
• June 28, 2013 School Board meeting at noon to approve warrant
COMMENTS None
NEW BUSINESS Nicole Plourde recognized the work of the CTE program and commented on how well the awards ceremony went.
NON PUBLIC On a motion by Lynn Moore, seconded by Donald Labrecque, the Board voted to go into nonpublic session at 6:20 p.m. in accordance with RSA 91-A3II, (a), (b) & (c). On a roll call vote, all members voted in the affirmative.
On a motion by Donald Labrecque, seconded by Lynn Moore, the Board voted to come out of nonpublic session at 7:18 p.m. The motion passed unanimously. No additional votes were taken in nonpublic session.
STAFFING On a motion by Lynn Moore, seconded by Donald Labrecque, the Board voted to approve the following staff changes:
RESIGNATIONS:
Nicole Ottavinia – PE Teacher – Brown/Hillside Schools
Allain Lessard – Bus Driver – District
NOMINATIONS:
Julie King – Principal – Hillside School
TEACHER NOMINATIONS:
Matthew Soprano – PE Teacher – Brown/Hillside Schools
The motion passed unanimously.
BENEFITS On a motion by Donald Labrecque, seconded by Lynn Moore, the Board voted to change all non-union course reimbursement to require re-payment if the employee leaves prior to 24 months of completing the course. On a roll call vote, all members voted in the affirmative.
On a motion by Kenneth Proulx, seconded by Louise Valliere, the Board voted to approve the Directors’ Benefits and salaries as amended to require the re-payment of course reimbursement if the employee leaves prior to 24 months of completing the course and to state that a clothing allowance will be given only to those required to wear uniforms. On a roll call vote, all members voted in the affirmative.
ADJOURN On a motion by Donald Labrecque, seconded by Louise Valliere, the Board voted to adjourn it’s meeting at 7:18 p.m. The motion passed unanimously.
